In Dec. 2004 Metro
Door, Inc. of
Hauppauge hosted a
competition with the popular
Donald Trump "The
Apprentice" show theme.
Metro Door employees
volunteered and formed three
teams whose goal it was to
raise money for The Pat
Lyons Foundation.
Metro
Door's Apprentice teams
through requests for
donations, raffles, a
dodgeball event, and an
evening of music raised a
total of $ 15,000. Many of
the efforts were filmed and
photographed with Metro
Door's President & CEO,
Scott McDermott taking the
role of Donald Trump and
Metro Door's CFO & Executive
Vice President, Christine
Vetrano , a very admirable
"Carolyn."
Irene participated by
joining in on the Board Room
drama. Irene cringed as
"Carolyn" would question the
volunteers as to why their
fundraising efforts did not
accomplish more. Both Scott
and Christine played their
respective roles
convincingly. It was
a unique day watching this
wonderful company have fun
with their employees. All
the teams did an incredible
job. The amount raised far
exceeded our expectations.
The event was highlighted
via film at their holiday
party by the presentation of
a check to Irene Lyons for
the foundation.
Congratulations and thank
you to the Metro Door team
for all their efforts and
for caring so much.
The Winning
Team!!
